2022 Readiness Summit

Join us, on March 4, 2022 for the Readiness Summit

In an abundance of caution with the current spike in COVID-19 cases, we’re moving the Summit to Zoom. If you attended last year, you’ll remember that it was an incredible conference and we want to make this year’s event just as interactive and engaging. We’re filling the agenda with great content to help our children be ready for Kindergarten and reading proficiently by third grade, with a powerful keynote speaker, many breakout sessions, and some energizing musical presentations. Like last year, the Summit will be a half day, beginning at 9 a.m. and wrapping up by noon.

Breakout topics will include Conscious Discipline; using storybooks to help children cope; and the story of trauma told by our bodies. One session will focus on the groundbreaking Neurosequential Model Early Childhood Center developed by Montgomery County Educational Service Center (MCESC) in collaboration with our keynote speaker, Bruce Perry, M.D., Ph.D.; the Neurosequential Network; and The Village Network.

Dr. Bruce Perry M.D., Ph.D.Dr. Perry, an expert on trauma on the developing brain, in 2021 released What Happened to You? Conversations on Trauma, Resilience, and Healing, co-authored with Oprah Winfrey. The book replaces the question, “What is wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?” That change acknowledges that  trauma creates the stories that shape lives, especially those of our youngest children. Once we see that Everyone Has A Story, we can help our children with resilience and healing. We aren’t able to record Dr. Perry, so you won’t want to miss his live presentation.

The Summit is free, but registration is required. Check back often for details including agenda and breakout sessions.
