COVID-19: Family Resources

Dear Preschool Promise Families

In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, all child care centers and Preschools in Ohio MUST close Thursday, March 26, unless they have received a pandemic child care license. Programs will remain closed at least through April 30.

Here is a list of centers  and a map that have received a pandemic license. Others will be added as additional licenses are approved. We do not know if families’ childcare costs will be subsidized. We’ll share more information as soon as we receive it. Follow us on Facebook or go to PreschoolPromise.org to stay current.

To enroll your child at a pandemic center, call the center directly.

The pandemic child care centers will only be open to essential workers. The Governor’s “Stay at Home Order” details what workers and businesses are essential.

Some of the important details of the Governor’s order relating to pandemic centers are:

  • There should be no more than 6 children in a class.
  • Ratios must be kept at 1 teacher to no more than 6 children.
  • Children whose parents are employed by the same entity should be kept together whenever possible.
  • The same teachers and children should be kept in the same room whenever possible.
  • Shared space or mixing of groups should be limited.
  • If shared space is used, a rigorous cleaning schedule must be in place.
  • Parent interaction should be limited at drop-off and pick-up.

Preschool Promise is here for you, please check back often for updates.

Wishing you well,
