One Click to Readiness: The Launch of the 'QuickApply' System

Navigating the various state and local programs for expectant mothers and young children can be repetitive, confusing, and time-consuming. To address this, Preschool Promise and 20 partner organizations launched the Be Ready by 5 initiative. This project features a centralized website that acts as a "one-stop shop" and eligibility screener for families in Montgomery County.

This year, in partnership with our technology partner, Mirza, we successfully developed the first phase of a Common Application or QuickApply. Once a family completes the initial screener, they can use the QuickApply feature to apply for multiple programs, including Head Start, Preschool Promise, Help Me Grow Brighter Futures, and WIC. Our long-term vision is to integrate state-run services like SNAP and Publicly Funded Child Care (PFCC), creating a seamless system that puts families first.
