Social-Emotional Learning Research Study
Preschool Promise is partnering with the US Department of Education and our research partners to conduct a social-emotional learning (SEL) impact study on up to 130 classrooms, over the 2025-26 and 2026-27 academic years. The study will examine the application and impact of Conscious Discipline (CD) in preschool classrooms at Preschool Promise sites.​
What is the Research Study?
Preschool Promise is partnering with the US Department of Education and our research partners to conduct a social-emotional learning (SEL) impact study on up to 130 classrooms, over the 2025-26 and 2026-27 academic years. The study will examine the application and impact of Conscious Discipline (CD) in preschool classrooms at Preschool Promise sites. There are two groups of participants: Group A: Receives CD training and materials, applies CD in the classroom, and teacher and students' progress is tracked throughout the duration of the program. Group B: Applies their existing curriculum and approach in the classroom and teacher and students' progress is tracked throughout the duration of the program.

How do I know if I am an eligible teacher? >You have a Pre-K-aged classroom (priority given to classrooms with 10 or more Pre-K-aged children). >You are a Lead Teacher, or an Assistant Teacher in a classroom where the Lead Teacher is also applying for the same group of the study. You have your Administrator’s approval to participate.
