Bridging the Health Gap:

Early childhood development is inextricably linked to physical health, yet Montgomery County faces a significant challenge: only 60% of young children on Medicaid are receiving their recommended well-child checkups. These missed appointments mean that developmental delays or health issues may go undetected during the years when intervention is most effective.

To combat this, Preschool Promise partnered with the Physicians’ Charitable Foundation of the Miami Valley to create and distribute the February Play Kit. This Play Kit was designed to promote health and wellness and highlight the importance of regular well-child visits for children ages 0–5. We are grateful for the Foundation’s support in helping us get the word out to families about the importance of well-child visits in the earliest years of life so that children have the support they need for long-term success.
