Preschool Promise's dedication to education does not stop with our teachers and the families we serve. Growing as professionals also means growing as leaders in the community. That’s why we actively support our team members in pursuing opportunities that expand their skills, strengthen their leadership and create lasting impact in the Dayton region.
Two members of our Education department are excellent examples of this commitment to professional development:

Latoria Marcellus, Senior Director of Education Strategy, recently began her journey as part of Leadership Dayton’s Class of 2026. As the fourth-oldest community leadership program in the U.S., Leadership Dayton immerses participants in the many facets of our community while building their capacity to serve. Latoria describes her decision to participate as this: “Through Leadership Dayton, I hope to deepen my understanding of the unique strengths and challenges facing the Dayton community. I look forward to growing my leadership skills by learning alongside peers from diverse sectors and perspectives. I also hope to build lasting connections that will extend beyond the cohort and lead to meaningful partnerships. Ultimately, I want to leave the program better equipped to create impact and contribute to Dayton’s growth and success.”

Maria Rao, Education Project Manager, recently completed the Women Lead Certificate Program at the
University of Dayton’s Center for Leadership. This program brings together 30 women leaders from across the region, providing the tools, confidence and insight needed to amplify their positive influence. Maria shared her time in the cohort with MSESC colleague, Jen Johnson, Director of Instructional Services.
By encouraging and celebrating professional learning at every level, we are investing not only in the success of our team, but also in the future of the community we serve.
