We have a big goal to increase the number and percentage of children attending preschool to 90% or more.  National research shows that children must attend at least 90% of scheduled program hours at school to ensure they benefit from the teaching and learning that takes place in the classroom.

Locally, our Preschool Promise data supports this. Preschool Promise enrolled children who attended at least 90% of the time made the greatest academic and social gains and were more prepared for Kindergarten.

Preschool Promise has prioritized understanding and addressing this work for several years. Through a research partnership with economist Dr. Richard Stock, we’ve broadened our understanding of the many factors that influence attendance. Our pilot program focuses on the strategies that we know work—educating families and caregivers, building a school community, coaching teachers and families, and most of all… making it fun!

We are thrilled to partner with The Charles D. Berry Foundation to make this happen.
