On August 20th, more than 100 community partners and funders gathered for our Annual Luncheon, themed Experience the Promise.

The event offered a hands-on simulation that placed participants in the shoes of families, educators and community members who face the challenges—and opportunities—of accessing high-quality, affordable Preschool and child care. These scenarios were not hypothetical; they were built from real conversations, classroom experiences and problem-solving efforts that Preschool Promise navigates daily alongside families and educators.
Following the activity, guests shared reflections at their tables over lunch and explored additional scenarios representing other key stakeholders in our community.

During the program, Robyn Lightcap and Board Chair & President Debbie Feldman shared updates on our vision: ensuring every child in Montgomery County is ready for Kindergarten. While progress is being made, the message was clear—the work continues.
The luncheon closed with a video featuring three voices in early childhood education: a mother, an administrator and a teacher furthering her education through the Scholars program. Their stories reminded us why this work matters—and why community support is essential.
