Nearly 600 people attended the 16th Annual Readiness Summit on Friday, March 7 at Sinclair Conference Center. We welcomed two keynote speakers, Darneshia Allen from ZERO TO THREE, and Dr. Jack Shonkoff from the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University. We learned from their collective years of experience as leaders in the early childhood field, as they challenged us to consider different ways of centering families, and new ways of using the science of early childhood to drive changes within the context of neighborhoods, cities, and communities. The importance of exposure to high-quality early learning environments in nurturing brain development in the earliest years of life is proven by decades of research. Now we must also recognize that what happens in a child’s neighborhood, community and physical environment also significantly impacts outcomes.

We are incredibly grateful for the support of our sponsors, whose generosity made our recent event a success! A special thank you to our Presenting sponsor, Montgomery County, for your continued commitment to the Readiness Summit.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to our Gold-level sponsors, PNC and Dayton Children’s Hospital, for your dedication to investing in our work and valuing the importance this event brings to the community yearly.

Finally, we want to recognize and thank our Bronze-level sponsor, Learn to Earn Dayton, for their support in helping us create meaningful opportunities for learners across Dayton.
